"Sometimes what you need the most...you don't even know you need."

Allah???

Many people have asked if the God of the Muslim Faith is indeed the One True God.
Is the God of the Koran the same as the one in the Bible?

To our Muslim friends. Your Koran commands that followers of the Book and the Koran reason together. It also states in Sura 2:111 that we as Nazarenes must bring you proof that what we say is true.  Notice the quote from your Koran:

[2.111] And they say: None shall enter the garden (or paradise) except he who is a Jew or a Christian. These are their vain desires. Say: Bring your proof if you are truthful.

So we offer this as our proof, just as your prophet Muhammad commands.

The Koran also states in Sura 2:136 that you believe in the revelation that has come down to Moses, Jesus and the Prophets. Notice the direct quote from your Koran:

[2:136] Say ye: "We believe in Allah, and the revelation given to us, and to Abraham, Isma'il, Isaac, Jacob, and the Tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) prophets from their Lord: We make no difference between one and another of them: And we bow to Allah (in Islam)."

While the Bible makes no mention of Mohammed or the Koran, the Koran professes EQUAL belief in the Bible.  So Christians and Muslims both will agree that the One True God is Not a Liar, so if both Books--the Bible and the Koran--teach something different, only one of them is right.  This leaves Muslims is a very bad situation, because the Koran confesses belief in the Bible and Jesus, while the Bible nor Jesus confess belief in the Korn nor Muhammad.

So may we present the following to you in the spirit of love and truth.
Your Muslim Faith & the Koran Teaches

a. Jesus is not God, (5:17, 75)
b. Jesus was not Crucified, (4:157)
c. Jesus did not rise from the dead.
d. Jesus was not the Son of God ( 9:30)
e. The Holy Spirit is the angel Gabriel (2:97; 16:102).
f. Salvation by sincerity and works (3:135; 7:8-9; 21:47; 49:14; 66:8-9).
g. No Miracles are recorded in the Koran
h. The Koran contains no prophecies.

Now compare the Muslim teachings above with the Bible Teachings Below on the same subjects.
Christianity & The Bible Teaches
  1. Jesus is God in flesh: (John 1:1, 20:28; Colossians 2:9; Philippians 2:6-7; Titus 2:13; )

  2. Jesus was crucified (Matthew 27; Mark 15; Luke 23; John 19; Acts 2:36; 1 Corinthians 1:23, 2:2; Galatians 3:1; Philippians 2:8; 1 Peter 2:24 Prophesied of in Psalms 22:16-18).

  3. Jesus rose from the dead (Matthew 28:7; Mark 16:6; Luke 24:6-7; John 2:19-20, 20:27-28; 1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:15; 1 Thessalonians 4:14).

  4. Jesus is the Son of God (Matthew 8:29, 26:63-64; 27:54; Mark 1:1; 3:11; Luke 1:35, 22:70; John 1:34; Acts 9:20).

  5. Holy Spirit, 3rd person in the Godhead. He will bear witness of Jesus (John 14:26; 15:26). He is not Gabriel (Luke 1:26-35) Blasphemy against Him is unforgivable (Matthew 12:31-32)

  6. Salvation by grace through faith in Jesus (John 3:16; Romans 5:8, 6:23, 8:1, 10:9-10; Ephesians 2:8,9).

  7. Miracles- hundreds are recorded and attested to even outside of the Bible records.

  8. Makes numerous prophecies with 100% accuracy. Some experts say they Bible is 27% Prophecy

In our travels talking with hundreds of muslims, we have found them to be generally great people that have a zeal for their god that is admirable.  But what has shocked me, is that none of them have their own Koran.  Many claimed they could recite the whole Koran, but only in Arabic.  When asked if they could understand the Arabic, they all claimed, 'no.'  This leads to the next obvious question, 'How do you know what the Koran teaches if you cannot read it or understand it?'  Most Muslims are surprised when I tell them I have a copy of their Holy Book on my laptop in English.  I, a Christian, have read their Koran in a language that I understand.

I usually ask my Muslim friends to consider the following:

  • Why would the god of the Muslims not want them to have a copy of his word to them?

  • Why would their god want them to waste their time memorizing a language that they cannot read or understand?

  • On the other hand, why do Christians give out Bibles for free to those that have none...in their own language?

  • Why do Christians tell the followers of the One True God to, 'not take a man's word what the Bible says, but rather read it for yourself.'

The answer is simple.  Christians know that the Bible is the Word of God and so we want everyone to have a copy so they can know His Word personally.  Muslims know there is a problem with their holy text and so seek to deceive their followers and keep them busy memorizing a language they cannot understand.  They know that if they have a copy in their own language, they will soon discover what is wrong with it.

If you can read this on the internet, you can find out for yourself what the Bible and Koran says, and then compare them.

Now with these few but important differences outlined, please prayerfully consider the following questions.

  1. The entire focus of the Bible is Jesus Christ. In John 14:6, Jesus tells us that He is “the Way, the Truth and the Life, and no one comes to the Father except through Him.”

  2. In Acts 4:12, we are told that there is no other name under heaven by which man can be saved other than Jesus.

  3. John 1:1 teaches Jesus is God. Also Titus 2:13, 2 Peter 1:1, John 20:28, and many others.

  4. 2 John 9 teaches that if you get too far from the teaching or doctrine of Jesus, then you do not have God. Even though the Muslim faith teaches Jesus was a prophet, they deny the rest of His teaching Doctrine. It is essential that a person believe in the Resurrection (Roman’s 10:9-10) among other things.

  5. John 1:29 says of Jesus, “Behold, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” If we deny Jesus, He will deny us before His Father (Matthew 10:33) and our sins will not be forgiven.

  6. The Virgin Birth is also important. It was the virgin birth that allowed Jesus to bypass the stain of original sin. This was prophesied of Him (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:19)

  7. In Luke 1:25, Gabriel is speaking to Mary telling her what is to happen to her. The angel tells Mary that the Holy Spirit will come upon her…Gabriel is not the Holy Spirit. Again, the Bible teaches that blasphemy against Him is unforgivable.

Dear friend, I ask you to consider this in love and truth of heart. The Koran confesses and commands faith in the “Book,” the Bible, but the Bible does not confess belief in the Koran. The Bible covers all of history from creation to the end of the world. It is older, contains hundreds of fulfilled prophecies, and it is historically, archaeologically, and prophetically perfect. Since the two teach different positions on Salvation, Jesus, God and other essential doctrines, belief in both is the same as belief in neither. You must choose this day whom you will serve.
